32 Weeks and 3D Ultrasound

Hi Everyone!

I hope everyone had a great Easter. We spent time with both of our families. My mom cooked a great dinner and we played some card games. Then we went out for dinner with Tony's family.

In these past few weeks a lot has gotten done! Tony's Uncle painted the room, which looks amazing. We got our furniture. Tony and Nick put the crib together...Thanks for the help Nick! The bedding got washed and put on the crib and some of the clothes that I already have got washed. My mom and I picked out fabric for the curtains and got a new shade for the window. We also ordered a new window for her room because the old one is broken, my dad is going to help us install it. Now we just have to wait for the shower this weekend to see what we get and then get the rest of the things that we need for her arrival.

I can't believe I only have 8 weeks left. Time is flying, like always say! I'm really excited for my shower this weekend, I can't wait to see all my family and friends!

We've had a few appointments in the last couple of weeks. I saw the speicalist after the EKG and he said things are still progressing good. I do have to go back in 4 weeks for another follow-up. She is stilling measuring 2 weeks early, but that doesn't mean she will be born 2 weeks early.

On April 13th we went to have our 3D ultrasound! It was AMAZING! Below are some pictures from that. Who does she look like? Still can't name her yet, so you'll just have to wait until she is born, unless I have an epiphany in the next 8 weeks.

32 Weeks:

Fetal EKG Part Two- 10 Weeks Left

Hi Everyone-
Just a quick update tonight. Tony and I went for the second Fetal EKG today. Everything is still looking good, except the Plumonary Valve is still looking thick, but the Cardiologist isn't to concern about it. He still wants to see her two weeks after she is born to perform an EKG. We already have that scheduled for June 18th. All and all things are looking good. We just pray that everything is good with her when she arrives. If anything seems wrong with her when she is born they could do an EKG right away. I don't have any worries about this happening, I'm optimistic that nothing will be wrong, my heart is telling me that. We are very lucky to have such great doctors and nurses helping us through this. They really know what they are talking about and everyone has a very positive outlook.

Thank you everyone for reading our blog and for your thoughts and prayers through everything. I can't believe we only have 10 weeks to go. I can't wait for everyone to meet her!!

Also Tony's appointment last week went really good. He will have to go for a routine MRI and stress test in the upcoming months just to make sure everything is going well.

28 Weeks!

So I'm really 29 weeks, but this it's my 28 week update...I know it's been awhile since my last post, but there hasn't been a lot to report until last week. On Tuesday March 16th I went for my 28 week check-up. I had my Glucose test, this tests for gestational diabetes which can occur in some women when they are pregnant. My test came back negative, which is good. My doctor also said that she is measuring a week and half early...which would put her on track to be born around my dad's birthday; June 1st. My doctor still wants me to keep my due date of June 9th, but there is a possibility that she could come earlier. There is no concern that she is measuring bigger, it's better than being smaller. My next check will be at 31 weeks. Movement is pretty consistent now, I had my first big kick/punch last week, which was awesome! Now she is consistently moving everyday. Mostly in the morning and after I eat. I can tell she is getting bigger by how strong the kicks/punches are, but they don't hurt yet. We have another EKG next week Tuesday so keep us in your thoughts and prayers, I know everything will be fine though.

Furniture has been ordered, paint will be going up with a couple of weeks all in thanks to Tony's Uncle Mike and the baby shower is set for April 17th. My FANTASTIC mom is planning it along with Tony's fantastic mom, they are the best!!!

In other news, about a month ago I called about getting a free 3D/4D ultrasound through GE medical. They offer it to pregnant women between 20-30 weeks for free because they are testing out their new ultrasound machines. Well they got back to me and we are scheduled for the ultrasound on April 13th. I'm really excited, because we really get to see what she looks like.

Reality is starting to set in as the months dwindle down. I really can't believe that she will be here in about two months. Life is really going to change around here. I really excited to meet her and to be off this summer.

I know alot of people have been asking about her name, but we are still not sure yet. We have a few favorites in mind, but I don't think we will be able to decide until we see her. Maybe we will even make the decision after the 3D ultrasound. We'll keep you posted.

28 Weeks:

Fetal EKG and Updates!!

Hey everyone, hope all is well. It's been a busy few weeks over here. We've celebrated lots of birthdays. My grandma's 85th, my brother Paul's 22nd, Tony's brother Chad's 21st and of course Tony's birthday is coming up on the 24th! The big 29, almost 30, CRAZY!

I'm almost 25 weeks, I can't believe how time is flying! We went for our EKG on Tuesday the 16th. Everything is looking really good with her heart. The cardiologist was great, he said everything seems to be flowing well through her heart and the chambers look good. He did say that her pulmonary valve looked a little thick, but it wasn't something to be concerned about. He said it could be how she was lying or the picture itself. He does however want to see us in 6 weeks to look at it again, he said that it probably won't change much but he just wants to make sure. Then after she is born we will have to take her in for an EKG just to make sure everything looks good. Tony and I aren't worried because the cardiologist said it's something that we shouldn't be concerned about. It's nice to keep getting great news about her. She is going to be perfect. On Tuesday the 23rd we are going back to our specialist so that he can just do a check-up on her. Then hopefully we won't have to make that trip anymore. OH and Tony made an appointment for a check-up on his heart for March 24th, so everyone please pray for him that everything is still going good for him.

I've been feeling really good. I have more energy and no sickness. I can feel her more and more each day. I haven't had a kick or punch to the ribs yet, but the flutters are much more defined. I can't wait for the day when she kicks me and I can feel it on the outside.

We've been busy cleaning and organizing over here. We cleaned out our spare room to prepare for her arrival. I got her bedding so the next step is picking out paint colors. Tony's uncle Mike is gracious enough to paint for us. I can't believe how much stuff 2 people can accumulate in 3 years. We've probably taken about 6 bags full of things to Goodwill and will probably have more to take in the next couple of weeks. In the next month we will be ordering our furniture also.

24 Weeks:

Half Way There!!!!!!!

Hi everyone, I hope this post finds everyone well. Time is surely flying over here, I can't believe that I'm 20 weeks TODAY!!!!

On January 13th we went for our 19 week ultrasound. Both grandma's came with us. It was awesome because she has changed so much in the last month. My friend Kristy who is 5 weeks ahead of me in her pregnancy told me to have a little sugar before I went so that she would move around more. Well that was a BAD idea :). Not really but man was she CRAZY!! She was moving everywhere, the ultrasound tech asked if I ate before I came and I said yes I had some chocolate. She asked in a curious tone if I ate chocolate often. I laughed and said not usually. It took a little bit to get some of the measurements but she was able to get everything. Everything went well, she is measuring right on schedule. The good news is all 4 chambers of her heart are looking great! We will still be going for an fetal EKG in about 3 weeks. This will look more in depth at her heart.

In other news I ordered her bedding last week. Absolutely adorable. It's pink, green and white with paisley and poke a dots. Tony and I are going to start registering this weekend and my mom and I are going to take a trip to look at baby furniture. Kristy and I signed up for a class to help teach our dogs how to cope with a new baby in the house. Tony and I are taking birthing classes in April and plan on taking a CPR class in March. The more prepared we are the better :).

18 Weeks and Counting

Hi Everyone!
Tony and I went for our 18 week appointment yesterday. Everything went good. It was just a check up. Her heart beat is 150 BPM, the doctor says that's great! We got some reading materials on taking birthing classes. We also got a list of pediatricians that my doctor's office recommends, but we don't have to use any of them. They suggest that we interview a few before we decide who we want. Does anyone have any suggestions? Other then that a pretty low key appointment.

I noticed today that I've popped a bit more, which is crazy since it's only been two weeks since my last picture :). I've had a few back pains and some dull pain in my hips, but nothing that I can't handle. My doctor said all of that is completely normal.

We've been looking around for furniture and bedding for the room. There are so many things to pick from, it will be a difficult decision. Any suggestions would be great!

Next week is the big ultrasound, so look for a posting after that!

We're Having a Baby!!!!

As most of you already know Tony and I are expecting our first child on June 9th 2010.We couldn't be happier. We've decided to join the blogging world to keep everyone up to date on our lives during pregnancy and of course after. We want our family and friends near and far to know how things are going even if we are not able to talk to them.

About Baby M:
I'm about 16 weeks along, time surely flies. At the beginning of the pregnancy I wasn't feeling well, but now I'm feeling great. I do get extremely tired at night, but that is to be expected. We do know that we are having a baby GIRL, yes it is way too early to know what we are having. The reason that we know already is on November 30th I had my first trimester testing which measures the fluid between the neck and spinal cord. The test came back abnormal, the fluid was measuring more than what is should be, so that is a sign of a possible problem with the baby. On December 3rd I went in for what is called a CVS test, this test takes a Chromosome sample from the placenta. We also met with a Genetic counselor that day who went over what the possible outcomes of the test could be. This test is looking for any genetic abnormalities such as Downs syndrome or Turner syndrome. On Friday December 4th the genetic counselor contacted us about the first part of the results. Those 48 hours were probably the hardest hours of our lives. This first part came back normal, it ruled out Down syndrome and other major genetic abnormalities. The last part of the test came back on December 14th and that was normal as well. So all major genetic problems were ruled out from the CVS test. Even though the genetic problems were ruled out the doctor still wants to look at her heart in depth to make sure everything is okay with that, because of Tony's heart defect. We have our big ultrasound on January 13th, this will measure all of her limbs, organs and other parts. They will also look at her heart closely too. After that ultrasound an EKG will be performed on her to make sure there are no defects.

Some good news though. We had a follow-up ultrasound on December 15th to measure the fluid again behind her neck. The fluid has gone down. This is great news!!!! Sometimes these things just correct themselves, but the doctor still wants to look at the heart to make sure everything is good there.

All in all it's been a pretty stressful December, but things are looking up. There have been a lot of prayer chains going and they are surely working. We are sooo blessed to be having this WONDERFUL addition to our family. We can't wait to meet her. I wish we could have her now, but I need to realize that we have a lot of work ahead of us and it's better that we have 6 months to prepare :).
